This Sauvignon Blanc from Touraine, Loire Valley, France comes from a single parcle of vines that are 60 years old. The grapes are hand harvest and are farmed organically. Dubbed by some as a rising start in the wine world, Jean-Francois Merieau has delivered a fantastic white wine in his L'Arpent des Vaudons 2009.
Scents of Bosch pear on the bouquet, a buttery, lush mouthfeel with great citrus on the palate, this is a delightful wine alone or with food. The lemongrass and citrus flavors pair amazingly with shrimp sauteed with garlic and white wine,or goats cheese as well as Raclette cheese.
